Sunny Gyal Album Branding

The Brief

Sunny Gyal is a Colombian recording artist, and this is the cover art and brand system built around her new single, "Not Your Love." The goal was cover art with the same confidence and attitude as the track itself: bold, a little playful, unmistakably her own.

I built the layout around oversized type, a hand drawn bubble letter accent in pink, and a full bleed black and white photo, then carried the same system across the back cover and track listing. From there I extended the branding into a small merch line, a phone case, tote bag, and cap, so fans had a way to wear the album, not just stream it.

The Outcome

The final cover reads instantly at thumbnail size on a phone screen, which was the real test, while still holding up as a full size sleeve for the vinyl pressing and across the merch.
