The Great Gatsby Reimagined Cover

The Brief

For this project I reimagined the cover of The Great Gatsby with a full illustrated treatment instead of the novel's iconic original art, aiming for an Art Deco feel that matched the book's 1920s setting.

I illustrated the vintage car and the two central figures myself, then built out gold foil style linework and ornamental borders across the front cover, spine, and back cover so the whole book, not just the front, felt considered.

The Outcome

The final cover treats the book like a keepsake edition: an illustrated jacket rich enough to notice on a shelf, with a quote from the novel used as a quiet second hook on the back.
